Marriage:

For Muslims in the West, it goes without saying that there is a dire need to be represented within their community. There is a lack of those who hold positions such as police officers, lawyers, doctors or judges which of course would only be of benefit for Muslims and there Deen. However, one of the many great benefits that Masjid Omar Bin Abdul Aziz has been able to successfully set up is the process of marriage. The strong communities of Muslims who are interested in marriage now find that they are able to marry according the teachings of Islam without having the anxiety of constraints of matrimonial ceremonies in court houses or the likes there of which obviously are not of an Islamic foundation. Marriage in itself is an act of Worship to Allah and so with the Muslims having a place to help them fulfill this, our community continues to grow and prosper properly from the very beginning with the strongest of foundations—a righteous family.

Masjid Omar bin Abdul Aziz performs Nikkah ceremonies on daily basis. An appointment with the Imam of the Masjid is needed.

In order for the Masjid to issue a marriage certificate, a valid legal marriage license is needed. Call 770-279-8606 to setup an appointment and to get more information.

Narrated Ziyad bin'Ilaqa:

I heard Jarir bin 'Abdullah (Praising Allah). On the day when Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba died, he (Jarir) got up (on the pulpit) and thanked and praised Allah and said, "Be afraid of Allah alone Who has none along with Him to be worshipped.(You should) be calm and quiet till the (new) chief comes to you and he will come to you soon. Ask Allah's forgiveness for your (late) chief because he himself loved to forgive others." Jarir added, "Amma badu (now then), I went to the Prophet and said, 'I give my pledge of allegiance to you for Islam." The Prophet conditioned (my pledge) for me to be sincere and true to every Muslim so I gave my pledge to him for this. By the Lord of this mosque! I am sincere and true to you (Muslims). Then Jarir asked for Allah's forgiveness and came down (from the pulpit).
