Masjid Omar bin Abdul Aziz has always believed that future is in the hands of our youth. To propagate this belief, it has taken an active role in the lives of our youth. The following are some of the activities Al-Farooq Masjid sponsors/participates in:
Periodically throughout the year, Muslim youth spend 24-hrs in an Atlanta Masjid. During the 24-hours the participants are exposed to lectures, discussions, field trips, sports and etcetera, all in an Islam environment.

Narrated Ziyad bin'Ilaqa:
I heard Jarir bin 'Abdullah (Praising Allah). On the day when Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba died, he (Jarir) got up (on the pulpit) and thanked and praised Allah and said, "Be afraid of Allah alone Who has none along with Him to be worshipped.(You should) be calm and quiet till the (new) chief comes to you and he will come to you soon. Ask Allah's forgiveness for your (late) chief because he himself loved to forgive others." Jarir added, "Amma badu (now then), I went to the Prophet and said, 'I give my pledge of allegiance to you for Islam." The Prophet conditioned (my pledge) for me to be sincere and true to every Muslim so I gave my pledge to him for this. By the Lord of this mosque! I am sincere and true to you (Muslims). Then Jarir asked for Allah's forgiveness and came down (from the pulpit).

Annual Summer Camp :
One of the legacies of the Al-Farooq Masjid Youth Program is the annual summer camp.
This event has been occurring every summer for many decades and draws Muslim Youth from all over Atlanta and the surrounding communities. Participants spend approximately 3 days to one week camping in one of our State Parks. Activities include canoeing, swimming, sports, lectures and etcetera.
Marjaan Youth Group:
The beginnings of Marjaan took place on a somber night in Ramadan of 2007. A couple of the youth from the Omar bin Abdul Aziz Masjid gathered in an empty parking lot after Taraweeh prayer, and just began discussing the beauty and wisdom behind the elegant month of Ramadan. After talking for a while, the issue of the Youth in the Muslim community surfaced. It was then that those youth realized the lack of participation, the lack of belonging and the lack of the knowledge present within the Muslim Youth community. Deciding that the responsibility fell upon their shoulders, the youth of Masjid Omar decided to start both a group and a brotherhood among the community. Slowly, the group began to grow by word of mouth, and before Ramadan was over, the group was given its name of Marjaan and was asked to deliver speeches and poems to help captivate both the elders and youths of the society. Inshallah, though Marjaan is still in its infant stages, with the will from our dedicated member and the guidance from Allah (swt), Marjaan will blossom into a unscathed, glowing jewel within the communities it reaches.
